Then, reading some Monkey King
on the way to Evansburg State Park to scope out the area and plan for this fall's nature club.
We hiked down to the stream and explored. Lots of water pennies, fish, damsel flies, and snails. Later, we learned from Wikipedia that water pennies are beetle larva.
Snails are plentiful in the Skippack.
Back at home, it was embroidery time, in period costume.
Then some outdoor play and swimming with the neighbors (along with underwater photography).
When she got back, she discovered packages at the door. Our Harpsicles
! Jane chose pink, I chose purple. I can't wait until the book and DVD come.
In another package, Jane found Lumberjanes Volume 2
!, which she started reading immediately.
The final event of the day was our weekly bike practice picnic. Her balance coasting downhill is improving. We practiced skateboards and scooters too. Then more Lumberjanes on the ride home, and books at bedtime. Tonight she and her Dad finished The Restaurant at the End of the Universe
